Here is Tim's famous story the Lord gave him in 1989, The Best of the Best:
Do you ever wonder what impresses God? Can you imagine Him impressed by Arnold Schwartzenegger's muscles, or Pavarotti's talent or Miss America's beauty?
In 1989 I was ministering in Indonesea, praying before a service. God gave me a picture of all the saints at the end of time before the throne and we wanted to show the Lord how awesome it was to be in His presence for eternity and we decided to put on a great concert for the King, so we brought forward the best of the best musicians in a great hall. God was seated on His throne in this hall as each person came forward to honor Him.
Sandi Patti came up, sang beautifully and soooo high and everyone cheered. God looked down, "Sandi, I love you, but I can sing higher than that, watch..." He opened His mouth and nothing came out,it seemed. We all looked around like maybe God was playing with us...then, suddenly, all the dogs of the universe started yelping. Wow, the crowd gasped, God can sing higher than Sandi Patti! Now, of course, Sandi is secure in His love for her so she sat down.
Phil Driscoll came up then and pointed at God and said, "You're cool, God", God pointed back "You're cool, Phil". Then Phil lifted up his trumpet and played his best, fastest, most intense and glorious song he had ever played. When he was done, the crowd cheered, 'Phil, Phil, Phil' then they all looked at God "Surely God is pleased". God looked down at Phil and said, "Phil, I love you, man, but guess who taught Gabriel how to play?" "Yeah, who did?" the crowd wondered aloud. God waved His hand to the ceiling and down came a beautiful golden trumpet suspended in the air right in front of Father God. God said 'Watch, no hands!' He blew on the trumpet and it exploded in colors and sounds, whole brass bands out of that one trumpet, that had everyone in awe of Him. Phil smiled, nodded and said, 'You're so cool, God' and sat down.
Then they rolled up a beautiful crystal grand piano and up walked Dino. He smiled at God and God said "Go for it, Dino". Dino proceeded to play unbelievably fast and glorious, behind his back, under his leg, every which way you could imagine until smoke arose from the piano and the crowd is carried away to ecstasy as they chant, 'Dino, Dino, Dino'. They look up at God, 'surely He is pleased'. God looks down and smiles, "Dino, I love you, but I want you to see something' and then again waves His hand toward the ceiling. This time the ceiling opens and through the opening a huge keyboard (777 keys) descended in front of Him. And with one finger He started to play His song upon this mighty instrument. Faster and faster until colors, and rainbows and sunsets appeared all around the great hall. His hands were a blinding flash of color and sound as they played more notes than imaginable to the human mind. On the last note, the crowd was down on their faces crying 'Worthy, worthy, worthy'.
Finally, in our desperation to please God we cried, 'who can perform for Him, who can honor Him, we've tried the best...?'
Then, we heard the voice of a little child in the back cry, 'Let me try’ and we looked to see a little boy in dirty, ragged clothes making his way to the front. Though some argued against it, most said, what will it hurt? So we let him through to the crystal piano. He sat down before that great instrument and looked up at the Father, and the Father looked back with great anticipation.
A few faltering notes at first, making everyone very nervous, of course. Then with a small, squeeky out-of-tune voice, the boy sang, 'Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." From the hall more voices joined in quietly at first 'Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" Then a heavenly orchestra picked up the tune 'Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" Then the whole congregation finally joined in the simple song for what seemed like hours.
Finally, when the song died down, every eye was transfixed on the Father to see His reaction. And then we saw the tears streaming down the face of the Father. He looked down on the little boy, smiling with tears in His great eyes, and proclaims to all "I am well pleased, well done, little one'. Then we realized at that moment, He doesn't just hear our voices, our talents, or our great works on earth for Him, He hears our hearts. And that His favorite song of all is one which He nor the angels cannot sing, and that's the SONG OF THE REDEEMED BECAUSE HE IS OUR REDEEMER."
