[for Mothers' Day 2000]
1. We stand here today as the honored of God
For the gifts He has brought to our lives
And we humbly confess every day we are blessed
By our mothers, our sisters, our wives.
2. May her strength and her dignity clothe her with grace,
May the works of her hands excel.
May her heart of compassion return in like fashion,
As in service to others she gives of herself.
CHORUS:
Mothers, sisters, daughters of all,
Our wives, our sweethearts, our friends.
May the Lord bless you every breath that you breathe,
For how precious the life you have given us all.
3. May she rise every morning refreshed by God’s love
May she look to the future with joy.
May she teach the children true lessons of kindness
And share with them wisdom the world can’t destroy.
