.: Malaysia Conference huge success!
The Worship Conference in Kuala Lumpur, August 11-14 attended by 1200 Malaysians!

ON August 8th, the Malaysia team (Maryl and I, Carter and Christa Cheston and David and Julie Penn) flew off to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia for a worship conference in a large church of 8000 people, called Full Gospel Assembly. 60% of Malaysians are Muslim. With many Buddhists and Hindus also in the mix, Christianity is very much a minority in Malaysia. Still, we found the Malaysians to be warm and hospitable everywhere. 1200 people from 30 different churches throughout Malaysia came to the conference. The normally reserved Malaysians responded enthusiastically to the times of worship. And the Word and the song of the Lord flowed freely. We ministered 11 times in four days and felt the strong hand of God upon us for energy and His anointing in everything we did. As we lead worship, you could sense the heart of worship springing up in the people and wonderful spontaneous moments would turn into beautiful songs and prolonged dancing and expressions of devotion throughout the congregation.

The leadership from the church told us that this was the best conference they had ever hosted and that they have never had such a great response for any conference, the attendance remained strong throughout the sessions, the word was rich as I shared the teaching time with Pastor Michael Koh from Pasadena and the response was incredible not only during the worship but at the end of each session as many were ministered to and prayed over by the team and pastors of the church. Every team member was stretched as they shared multiple times throughout our time there.

There was an impartation of passion and purpose in worship, releasing the new song and God’s priests and kings’ anointing for Malaysia. The Malaysians sang scripture over one another and interceded in song for their prime minister and their nation. They danced and shouted and received new vision for His presence and purpose in their lives.

When we arrived in KL, there was a haze sitting over the whole city from Indonesian fires that floated over the Straits of Malacca and covered Malaysia for the previous two weeks. The smoke burned our throats and kept us inside for 3 days and evoked a national state of emergency shutting down schools and businesses for 2 days and telling everyone to stay home. However, this released many people to attend the conference so it was definitely a blessing in disguise. We prayed for wind and rain and relief from the darkness over the land. Then on the 3rd day of the conference, the wind shifted and we saw the sun and the city for the first time. Then on Sunday, the rains poured down over the city and brought relief to everyone. Of course, we saw this as a great sign from God where His Holy Spirit brings the wind and the rain to a darkened nation, bringing joy and relief to all who look to Him. Our host, Guy Rozario, had specifically asked for a sign of rain at the end of the conference. And after two weeks of haze and no rain, suddenly it came!

Thousands were impacted directly and indirectly through this week of worship and the word. Whole churches and many pastors were reinvigorated for the great work that Jesus is doing in their land. Please pray that God will continue to blow back the dark clouds of religious confusion in Malaysia, and send His rains of refreshing in a dry and thirsty land.
